Custom carved 3D signs with depth are creative and visually pleasing and they give your business a sense of permanence and professionalism. Additionally, our 3D signs are often made of high density urethane (HDU) because of it’s ability to be carved with great detail and its longevity in outdoor applications, therefore you can feel comfortable hanging your sign in any type of weather. We also use wood, plastic, metal, sculpting epoxy, eps foam with hard-coat, or even concrete to really make your sign unique.

What are two-dimensional (2-D) signs?

2D signs are flat. They may be 1/8″ thick or they could be 3″ thick, but if the face of the sign is flat it is considered a 2-D sign. Even though they can still have the appearance of 3D with the use of drop shadows and gradations, 2D signs are lower cost and quicker to produce. Two-dimensional signs are typically produced with layers of paint, cut vinyl, or printed and laminated vinyl.

What are three-dimensional (3-D) signs?

3D signs have physical depth to them as opposed to only optical/visual depth. Generally they produced by carving down into a material, sculpting up on top of a base material, or stacking multiple layers of materials on top of each other.  

How long will 3D signs last?

It depends on what materials are used, however, metal and acrylic will last a very long time while wood will breakdown and weather. Using high quality materials, adhesives, primers, paints and finishes ensures that you sign will last as long as possible with low to no maintenance. In most cases 3D signs can withstand any type of weather for 10-20 years without needing a fresh coat of paint. However, wood signs will require regular maintenance in order to keep them looking like new.

How much do 3D signs cost?

3D signs are often between $500-$5000 depending on size, complexity, type of material(s), and whether they are single sided or double sided. They can be $500 or less if they are small and basic, or they can be $5000 or more if they are large and complex.
