What are HDU signs? 

High density urethane (HDU) is a rigid foam used in the sign industry and often as a replacement for wooden signs. It can easily be hand carved or machined on a cnc router and its closed cell structure makes it waterproof and durable making it a popular choice for long lasting exterior signage.

How long will HDU signs last?

It depends on what materials are used, however, metal and acrylic will last a very long time while wood will breakdown and weather. Using high quality materials, adhesives, primers, paints and finishes ensures that you sign will last as long as possible with low to no maintenance. In most cases 3D signs can withstand any type of weather for 10-20 years without needing a fresh coat of paint. However, wood signs will require regular maintenance in order to keep them looking like new. 

How much do HDU signs cost?

HDU signs are often between $500-$10,000 depending on size, complexity, and whether they are single sided or double sided. They can be $500 or less if they are small and basic, or they can be $10,000 or more if they are large and complex.
